Now there’s no denying that from the first trailer things looked pretty crazy but the newest trailer takes things to a whole new level. This amount of chaos and destruction, while entirely justified in the situation of a major alien invasion, is a huge risk that could turn out to be over the top and entirely ridiculous or insanely good (though the former would be a better bet). There’s a definite audience for this film, being a follow up to a fairly well regarded first outing but will the changes in those 20 years that have passed mean that this film will appeal to the fans? Or that it will use the technological advancements in film to appeal to the large portion of audiences that simply want special effects and carnage?
