Colleagues devise a drastic plan to help a New York advertising executive (Will Smith) recover from a personal tragedy that has taken away his joy for life. The film stars a long list of famous actors including: Kate Winslet, Keira Knightly, Edward Norton, Helen Mirren, Naomie Harris and Michael Peña and could be an inspirational story about working together to help someone enjoy life and make the most of it, however it could also fall into the trap of having too many famous faces in one film and losing focus. From what we can see it does look rather sentimental, which when done correctly can make for a great film but when done with a more commercial aim of getting emotional viewers into cinemas, it tends to turn out as something akin to film fluff, along the lines of films like New Year’s Eve or Valentine’s Day, just not attached to its own holiday. Fingers can be crossed that this won’t follow that path but until release, it’s easy to be hesitant with this one.
Expected in cinemas 30th December.
