Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have rejoined forces to give us a new comedy to look forward to. As a self-confessed super-fan of these two brilliant women I have to admit a certain bias towards this film but will try to contain my excitement. This week has released the new full-length trailer for Sisters, a story of two women whose family home is being sold and want to have one last hurrah before the place is gone. So what can we expect?
1. Foul Language (this is a must for these two together)
2. Age Inappropriate Behaviour (come on it’s a film about women trying to relive their high-school years, not a huge leap)
3. Really Bad Flirting (mostly by Poehler, to be fair she kicks ass at awkward flirting, that’s a compliment right?)
4. Insults Galore
5. Several Great Comedy Cameos
The last time these two teamed up on the big screen was for Baby Mama in 2008, which may have not be the greatest comedy of all time but its a fun, hilarious film and despite its mixed reception it still has a solid 6.1 on IMDB which is nothing to be sniffed at. Considering all the great Fey and Poehler have done: 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, two of the greatest comedy shows ever to be created, not to mention several fantastic turns hosting the Golden Globes, and that this film is directed by the guy who brought us Pitch Perfect, and written by the legendary SNL writer Paula Pell…enough said or should I keep going? How about including Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, John Leguizamo, Ike Barinholtz, Rachel Dratch, James Brolin and Dan Byrd? This is one that I can’t wait for and know I won’t be disappointed.
